The Critical Home Repair program works as a partner with our core building program, enabling us to serve more families and increase opportunities for volunteers to make a difference in our community. Critical Home Repair addresses the health and safety of the individual residences in a neighborhood, strengthens connections within the community and helps preserve affordable housing.

Critical Home Repair Qualifications

Follow the steps below to see if you qualify for Critical Home Repair and find out the program requirements before you apply.

 
Residence Requirements:

1. Must be a resident of Hancock County.

Qualification Requirements:

2. Owner occupant of a single-family home (mobile homes will not qualify).

3. Owner’s household income meets program guidelines.

4. Owner is current on mortgage and property tax payments.

5. Owner has or is willing to purchase homeowner’s insurance.

6. The repairs must fall within the program guidelines.

7. Homeowner is willing to partner with HFHBW
